On our mission to make learning awesome, we aim to unlock the classroom hero in every student. One of the superhero powers that we’re especially passionate about is empowering students to take the lead in class, going from a learner to leader, from a listener to a presenter and facilitator. We call it our “learners to leaders” pedagogy, which is one of Kahoot!’s core concepts.
also, we know that learning and creativity happen everywhere, not necessarily in the classroom. great ideas should never get lost!
To put students in the driver’s seat in learning, as well as facilitate creativity on the go, we’re proud to announce the ability to create and host kahoots in our app威廉希尔官网中文 anywhere, anytime! Here’s why we’re so excited about it, explained by our co-founder and CTO Morten:
The learners to leaders pedagogy
Since Kahoot!’s inception, this pedagogy has been focal to our mission, vision, and goals. Devised from typical behavior, gaming and teaching models, the pedagogy creates a loop which encourages both independent or collaborative research and creation. It also empowers students to take ownership of what they are learning, and present and share their new-found knowledge to their peers, in a playful and social way.
via this loop, students go from consumers of knowledge, to researchers, to creators, to facilitators, and finally to leaders, completing a full cycle of learning!
moreover, this pedagogy increases knowledge retention. deeper learning happens when learners consider not just what the correct answers are to questions, but also what the potential incorrect answers are. the more creative they are encouraged to be with their content, the deeper they will understand the concepts.
Creating with the Kahoot! app
with the ability to create kahoots in our app, teachers are empowered to challenge their students to research, develop, and share their own learning games on a specific subject or learning unit. teachers can then assess student knowledge based on the quality of the content they create.
